Shellee Graham and Jim Ross Launch New Web Site

May 31, 2006

Historic highway enthusiasts Shellee Graham and Jim Ross today announced the launch of a new web site dedicated to Route 66 and Roadside Culture images.

www.route66photographs.com is a collaborative effort containing a wide array of Route 66 and other roadside culture images. The fundamental purpose of the site is to satisfy the demand from individuals as well as commercial users who need images for the hundreds of books, calendars, magazine articles, films, and other related mediums produced on an annual basis.

Shellee Graham is among the highway's best known photographers and author of the books Tales from the Coral Court and Return to Route 66. Her work has appeared in regional, national and international shows, to include venues as distant as Samara, Russia. For over a decade, her traveling Route 66 Photo Exhibition has circulated all over the United States and is booked well into the future. In 2005, she became the 8th recipient of the John Steinbeck Award for historic preservation.

Jim Ross is author of the book Oklahoma Route 66 and publisher of the Route 66 Map Series. In 2001, he was inducted into the Oklahoma Route 66 Hall of Fame, and later that same year became the 4th recipient of the John Steinbeck Award for historic preservation. He is considered an authority on the history of U.S. 66 and is a Co-founder of American Road magazine. His photos have appeared in such publications as AAA's Home & Away, Route 66 Remembered, Drive-In Deluxe, and Route 66: The Mother Road (75th Anniversary Edition).

Route66photographs.com contains images in fifteen different categories, from "Roadside Attractions" and "Vanished Icons" to "Bizarre & Unusual." At launch, the site contained approximately 300 photos, however new images will be uploaded on a continual basis.

Ross and Graham's personal pledge is to offer reasonable rates and to provide friendly, efficient service. For additional information or to schedule interviews, please contact Jim or Shellee at: Jim@route66photographs.com or Shellee@route66photographs.com
